Okay, this week officially sucks.

I had trouble with my Chemistry homework, couldn't hold back my disgust at the loli subculture any longer and expressed my frustration in a way I sort of regret now, and to top it all off that old MisawaxOC fic with the 5'9'', 110-pound goth multiple-personality Sue is back. T T

At least I get Friday off.

Awwwww, Jinenji is so CUTE!

Not cute as in "bishonen", of course...I mean cute as in "I want to give him a hug".

My goal is to read all of the manga scans before summer is over, and so far the Jinenji mini-arc is my favorite. He kind of reminds me of Forrest Gump...in fact I was half-expecting him to say that life is like a box of chocolates. Except they didn't have chocolate in Japan back then, so it would have had to be a box of some other sort of food.

...Why am I pondering this so much? I dunno. :P

I was going to write an Inuyasha fic (not with Jinenji in it, though), but I just couldn't get the words out right. I might draw a picture instead when I get back home. I was thinking of baby Sesshomaru with his mom.

Sesshomaru is another one of my favorite characters, maybe because he sort of reminds me of an autistic person. It's a bit difficult to always type out his full name, but I would rather do that than call him "Sesshy". Or, even worse, "fluffy". *shudders*

Also, I think Inuyasha has Tourette's Syndrome.

Also also, Naraku's pelt thing reminds me of Rafiki from The Lion King, and every time I see it, Rafiki's singing pops into my head as a weird kind of background music.

Also also also, Kikyou is a huge Canon Sue. But at least I don't hate her. I guess by default that would make Kagome a Sue as well. XD;

So I got an account on AFF.net...finally. (And don't look at me like that...I'm nineteen and therefore not breaking any rules. >>)

I'm not sure if I'll write any new adult stuff, but I'm probably posting some of my more mature existing stuff on there. I'm definitely putting "Unwind" there ~~since this finally gives me a reason to stop being lazy and revise that darned fic...I also plan to revise the ff.net version~~, and possibly my "crude humor" fics as well. ("Use Your Imagination", "Best Friends?", and "No Pairing Left Unmocked".)

One thing that is DEFINITELY not going there...the Towelshipping fics. They seem to be fodder for Canon Nazis and fanbrats simultaneously, which is quite a dubious accomplishment.

This fic might get me a long way towards starting to write for the Mario fandom. My preliminary scans have uncovered lots of good-quality fanfic that is both canon-compliant AND interesting! ~~Try accomplishing that, GX Canon Nazis!~~ And this is my favorite fic so far.

At first I was afraid that the OC would be a Mary Sue, but she appears to be the exact opposite. She has an actual personality; something that most Sues lack.

And the details are just mind-blowing! Only bad thing about this is; I was playing Super Mario World on my Game Boy Advance. Now, I don't know if I'll have the heart to finish it. T T

The one thing I really don't like, though, is that most of the chapters are of a Silvormoon-esque length. Therefore, the story has some overly slow and wordy patches.

I'll be nineteen in less than three weeks. I really feel like I'm getting old... >>

Still haven't decided what I want to do for my party...I have to be at school on the actual day. All I know is, I want a chocolate cake somewhere along the line. The kind I REALLY want is the All-American chocolate cake from Costco, but Mom never lets me get that. She says this is because it has trans fat in it. I try to tell her that lots of foods have trans fat in them, and we still eat those. She won't listen.

So I guess I'll have to make do with a more puny homemade cake. It'll still be good, though.

~~And it would be really super special-awesome if someone could write an Ekou fic...especially since I didn't ask for anything last year...~~

I didn't even realize it was Wednesday until I logged onto Janime...shows what level of interest I currently have in GX. All the cool characters and subplots are gone, and it's just no fun for me anymore. :(

Judai wins again? YAWWWWN. He hasn't lost for like two years now. >>

But this post isn't to complain about Judai winning all the time. This is mostly about my future fanfic plans.

I'm thinking of writing some fics in a fandom that's not so mind-crushingly boring at the moment. I'm mainly thinking Pokemon, but I might try dabbling in video-game fics too. I've always kinda wanted to write a fic about Super Smash Brothers Melee...or the Mario games...or maybe even Legend of Zelda. ~~Taniya is SO a Gerudo in the wrong fandom...~~

I feel bad about leaving all my other chapter fics unfinished, though. I've gotten mad at people for doing that before, and I don't want to be a hypocrite. I might try to stick to oneshots from now on, but I'm not sure how well that will work.

I do still have a few GX plot bunnies, but most of them are just random, crappy "everybody was raped in his or her childhood!" stuff.

Just one more exam...

All in all, a pretty good day today. Duke won a close game against Marquette in the championship game of the Maui Invitational (did any of that even make sense to y'all? :P), and earlier I made actual progress on Chapter 3 of the Ekou fic. I have over 2000 words written, though I might have to delete a bit of that. I'm trying to keep the whole "show, don't tell" thing in mind.

I think I'll fiddle around a bit with the fic before going to bed...I wanted to elaborate a bit on an important encounter between Amon and Ekou.

Tomorrow, of course, is Thanksgiving. The plans aren't too much different from those that I reported last year.

So I have to wait and wait nearly forever for reassurance that it doesn't entirely suck. Yet when I post my humor fics, I get reviews within the first couple of hours. XD Curious indeed...

Well, since I don't have class this morning, and 161 came out early on Youtube, I decided to finally quit being lazy for once and watch the damn episode. XD

I'm going to do this "dub-style", and write a whole bunch of short obesrvations as I watch the show (I started to do it that way so I wouldn't forget stuff)

-I know this whole Fianceeshipping thing is supposed to be all cuddly and "AWWWW!"...but I'm just getting stalker vibes from it. I get the feeling that Asuka and Rei will team up to rape Judai.

-Hey, my Japanese class is paying off, it seems. I can actually understand (or at least guess at) what they're saying some of the time!

-OMG Pharaoh opened his eyes! Well, sort of.

-No matter how many times Daito shows up, I STILL think he sounds just like Michael Jackson.

-Dare I say it...? Judai is currently even LESS interesting than paste IMO. I'd say that his interestingness level is roughly at the level of a housefly.

-Manjoume...it's not polite to talk with your mouth full.

-VALENTINESHIPPING STILL LIVES!! To all those people who thought Manjoume had given up on Asuka: :P :P :P

-The BGM is especially cheesy this episode. But then again, I guess the episode itself is too.

-Sho, you're not being very nice. How would you like it if Manjoume tried to strangle you whenever you talked about Dark Magician Girl?

-So are Samejima and Tome finally an item? It's about time, too!

-Judai really doesn't seem to have a good history with getting along with people in tag duels, does he? This time was no exception.

I'm gonna follow Immi's lead here and try to post some random stuff that I don't think is quite ready for ff.net.

This story is the one I was working on for a while when my dog was sick, and I finally decided, what the heck, it's almost 1000 words long...I don't want all that work to go to waste! Especially since I think Immi will appreciate >i>anything</i> that's written about this character. ;)

Anyway...here's some info before the cut.

Tentative Title: "Names"

Rating: PG, for this part at least.

Length: 903 words

Character: REGGIE! Yes, you read that correctly.

Summary: Not everything in life was handed to Reggie on a silver platter.

Reggie Mackenzie had been called many things during this first part of her life. Some names had been pleasant; terms of endearment from one person to another. Mama called her “sweetie” and “darlin”. Friends often gave her cute nicknames. Some called her Reg, others called her Mac, and a few with a sense of humor even called her “R-Mac”. She had never liked this last name too much...it made her sound like she was a seven-foot-tall basketball player. David had lots of nicknames for her, most of which were inappropriate in polite conversation.

Unfortunately, not everyone felt so fondly towards Reggie. Oh sure, they acted nicely enough towards her when she was actually around them, but they were jealous of her. She knew she might not be the smartest person to ever live, but she did know that people wondered how she’d done it all. David had many fangirls, most of whom were much prettier and richer than Reggie could be. They just couldn’t fathom how some poor white-trash girl from Texas had stolen their David away from them.

Hillbilly. Redneck. Hick. Trailer trash.

Reggie was proud of her home state. No matter how much the other people at the school sneered over it, it was her home and she loved it. Then again, it was Texas, and state pride was nearly mandatory.

She had been born near Brownsville, which was right at the southern tip of the state, next to the Mexican border. Come to think of it, she wasn’t sure exactly how her family had ended up in such a remote area. She didn’t even think that anyone would have even known had she asked.

Reggie had no memory of her father. Her parents had gotten divorced when she was just a year
old, leaving her young mother to raise Reggie and her older sister Brittany. Mama had always
done the best she could with the limited resources available to her. The family may not have
had much in the way of toys and nice clothing, but they never went hungry either.

The two Mackenzie girls had had a normal enough childhood. They had looked almost alike
enough to be twins when they were younger. Both had pale skin that burned easily, big brown
eyes, and hair that was so blonde as to be almost white. Brittany’s hair would darken as she got
older, but Reggie remained a natural blonde.

Photographs showed them playing in the nearby vacant lot; posing for the first day of school;
dressed up in hand-me-down dresses for Sunday school. Brittany was more shy, and it was
tough to get her to look at the camera. Reggie, however, never had that problem. She had
always met every challenge, no matter how big or small, with a grin on her face. That would
not change a bit when she was older.

Slut. Whore. Sleeping her way to the top.

Reggie wasn’t sure how this rumor about her being a slut had started. She had had boyfriends in the past, but David had been the only serious one. Perhaps it was because of the popular image of the “slutty Texas girl”. Perhaps yet another one of the jealous fangirls had out-and-out lied to start the rumor. Whatever the cause, people believed it.
It was a good thing that these rumormongers didn’t know about Brittany. Brittany wasn’t a slut either, but she had made a few unwise choices. The result: she became a mother at the tender age of fourteen. The baby was given up for adoption.

Now, teenage mothers were not uncommon at all in Texas. Several of Reggie’s childhood friends married at a young age, and Mama herself had had Brittany right out of high school. However, Mama had obviously been devastated that such a thing could happen to one of her own children. She didn’t want Reggie to suffer the same fate, so she urged Reggie to search around for a hobby that could occupy her spare time.

That was how Reggie discovered Duel Monsters at the age of twelve. She had to raise money for the cards herself, by doing odd jobs around the neighborhood. It took a lot of work and practice, but it was worth it. Slowly but surely, her fame as a dueling prodigy grew.

Reggie was shocked when she received a letter from America’s premier Duel Academy. They informed her that she had been chosen to be a possible winner of a scholarship The very thought of it overwhelmed her. Moving all the way to California, to go to a fancy private school with all the wealthy students...she could barely even imagine anything that wasn’t heat, dust, and poverty.

So she filled out the application form, got recommendation letters, and wrote seemingly endless essays. She really wasn’t expecting it to lead to anything, since there were most likely thousands of applicants who were more qualified (and richer) than her.

Reggie didn’t get the full scholarship. However, she did receive a partial one. With the help from that, her family was able to save just enough to send her.

No one in Brownsville could believe it! Someone from their town was going to Hollywood to live with the children of the rich and famous! Reggie was the new town celebrity, and she discovered that she loved the attention. Perhaps she would fit in better at the school than she had thought.

Preview for Next Part (If there is a next part, that is): As it turns out, Reggie doesn't fit in very well at first. Before she knows it, she winds up in detention, where she makes an unexpected acquaintance.

I'm sort of worried that this is Sue-ish... :(

Anyway...the big news is...my family adopted a new dog! Her name's Daisy, and she's a black lab mix. Right now, she feels a bit crappy since she just got "fixed" earlier today. But I'm sure she'll be back to her old self in no time!

Here are my observations on 155. I admit, I fast-forwarded through all of the Card Game parts...I really only care about character development.

-Dammit, I was going to make an off-color remark about how Sho looked at the beginning of the episode, but was too shy to say it. Suffice to say that I had reason to believe that he might have had DMG on the brain at the time...

-Yay! My fanfic isn't AU! In fact, the flashback may have even helped my fic out, since I did try to write Yubel as an immature child trapped in an adult's body.

-King: One day, Yubel, all of this will be yours!

Yubel: What, the curtains?

-Okay, time out.

1. How did that kid turn into the Yubel we know and love today?

2. How did Pegasus know about this? After all, he designed Yubel's card.

3. Where did Yubel hang out before she got turned into card form?

4. What does Johan have to do with all this? Is he a reincarnation of kiddie!Yubel?

5. Why can't I think of a Number 5?!

*HEADDESK*

-The true winner in this season is Misawa. While everyone else is all emo, he finally gets the attention he was wanting. Right now, he's probably working on perfecting his Ultimate Equation of Diaper-Changing. :P

Who's ready for Season 4? NOT ME! Sorry, but I'm really losing interest fast in the anime, unfortunately. It will never be able to be as compelling as my sex-and-violence-filled plot bunnies. I'm currently considering switching over to the manga.
